Guest Speakers At many of our club's Monday meetings the main part of the evening is taken up with a guest speaker who will enthral us, divide us, entertain us or put us to sleep. The club's Speaker Secretary is responsible for coordinating the vast array of speakers required each year and does this task with the assistance of many members of the club. Club members will suggest someone who they think would be able to entertain us after our Monday evening meal and the speaker secretary follows it up with contact. In the past our speakers have varied from the local Member of parliament, the governor of the ladies open prison, a bee collector, a detective, a private detective, an anaesthetist, a German business man, a speaker on the subject of Bolivian farming methods etc. The list is quite a long one, since it is unusual to have the same speaker on more than one occasion. It is quite common for a guest speaker to come along to our
club from a charitable body, As we enter the Rotary year of 2007/2008 many vacancies for guest speaker exists and the current speaker secretary is looking for possible guests to fill these vacancies. If you know of someone
who might be suitable or are yourself available as a guest speaker please get in
touch with Rotarian Roger Ingram on 01785 282238 or email him at
