PAUL HARRIS FELLOWSHIP Paul Harris founded the Rotary International service organisation in 1905 in Chicago, USA. The highest award that a Rotary Club can award one of its members is called the Paul Harris Fellowship and is usually awarded for service to the club over and above what would be considered usual. The Eccleshall & District Club has five such members in its ranks. John Parry, its founder President, John Mottram who among other things led a District Group Study Exchange team to Brazil and was also the clubs President, Roy Boote who put us all to shame by carrying out his various Rotary duties and lots of other activities with two artificial legs, and our Club's past Honorary Secretary Graham White who has held every post in the club and given this club a wealth of experience and solid support during his almost thirteen years as a member, and Past President Peter Jones. As if this was not enough the money
provided to Rotary International to purchase the award goes straight into the
Rotary movements own charity, Rotary Foundation which helps people around the
world. |
